LONDON TRIP : BURGER & LOBSTER

Burger & Lobster, Knightsbridge

After the long, hectic, tiring, but adventurous morning in Chessington Theme Park, me and my friends have decided to have dinner at one of the most sought after diners in London.

This diner very simple with only three food choices to pick from.
Food choices are..... (1) Whole Lobster (2) Lobster Roll and (3) Burger.
Simple, isn't it?!!

So, me personally, I ordered the Whole Lobster, Grilled. As for my friends, they ordered Steamed Whole Lobster. All the food choices comes with fries and salad by the side.

View from Knightsbrigdge Underground Station

Bar/Counter

Kitchen view, also some other Asian customers
(oohh by the way, loads of Asians were there too, when I walked in)

Cozy and simple interior

rustic and very pier themed

Table settings with wet tissues included

Happy Eating!!!

Grilled Lobster
My Opinion :
The grilled lobster was grilled to perfection and the texture remain chewy and juicy. with the grilled marks, there's also the 'grill' flavour on the lobster.
I've tasted a few pieces of the steamed lobster from my friends, I can say it's hard to pick between these two, as the steamed was juicier.
But for me, I'm still gonna say the grilled one is my preferred choice.
Both lobster meat just came right off from it's shell easily and it tastes fresh and full of flavour. The fries by the side were not too salty or bland, it;s just right. The same goes for the salad by the side, it is lightly seasoned with balsamic vinegar (if not mistaken) and some croutons and some grated cheese. The sauce by the side is Lemon Butter sauce.
The lobster tastes heavenly when dipped with the Lemon butter sauce.

Lobster : £20 (all three food choices were of same price)
Environment : cozy and nice, feels like London ^^
Quite friendly

P.S. will be having the Steamed one next time, hehe

Thanks for reading :D

DURHAM TRIP : Treats Tea and Cake Shop

Tea time in Durham!

Had Lemon Cheese Cake. Not the typical cheesecake but fluffy sponge cake with cream cheese.
Let's get to it!!

Lemon Cheese Cake with Latte

As you can see, the cake isn't typical cheesecake.
The bottom layer is crushed crackers with caramel/toffee, then topped with lemon sponge cake, then lemon mascarpone cheese cream, then again with the lemon sponge cake again, the to top it all off is the lemon meringue cream with lemon drizzle of course!!

Overall, the cake was great!!! For people who has sweet tooth for Lemon flavoured cakes, this is gonna be your favourite. To me, after the first few bites, it was nice, and tasty. But after that, the lemon flavour was too strong as the lemon was infused in every single layer of the cake.
But it was fine for me because i ordered latte. the Latte was great and the flavour was just right for me, not too bitter, not too sweet. Having the cake with latte was heaven, as the latte would counter off the too much lemon-y taste from the cake.

Latte

inside the shop, order up front.

The shop was located upstairs and it's quite a small place. Although it's small, it felt cozy inside, very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and all of them serve with a big smile on their face, very sweet of them.
Treats Tea and Cake Shop does not only serve cake and tea, they also serve all day breakfast, Full English Breakfast to be precise. I didn't order the breakfast was because I didn't notice it when I first went in, all I saw was cake!! haha.
But other customers were ordering their breakfast, it was a huge portion and it looked very appetizing!!

Lemon Cheese Cake : £3.15
Latte : £2.45
Ambiance : Cozy and comfortable
Definitely recommended for all Sweet Tooth!!

UNI MEALS : VERMICELLI CHICKEN SOUP

It's winter and it's windy!! The winds are much worse then actual winter weather!!!
Made myself a hot bowl of chicken soup for dinner.

not exactly in a bowl, but who cares!! haha
Ingredients
1 egg
1/2 chicken stock cube
1 roll of vermicelli
2 chicken thighs, deboned, chop to smaller size
water enough to cover the ingredients

Methods
1. Pour water roughly halfway through the pot (single serving pot), heat it up.
2. Add in the chicken cube, (pinch the cube as it would dissolve faster), stir in. Add chicken thighs         into the soup. Wait for the soup to boil.
3. Once soup is boiled, run vermicelli under running water, then add into the soup. Once vermicelli is     translucent, crack and egg directly into the soup. Cover the pot with lid for the egg to be cooked         perfectly.
4. once the egg is cooked up to your perfection, remove pot from heat. serve it immediately in a bowl.     Or just directly from the pot itself.

Enjoy!!!

German Sausage @ Quayside, Newcastle Upon Tyne

GERMAN SAUSAGE!!! Who doesn't like German sausage?
Anyway, it's by the River Tyne and the sausages were served in a booth? with German flags standing tall on top of the booth.
Enough with words, pictures speak for themselves!!!

Runs by a lovely couple

Very friendly!! (photobomb by two of my friends)
Having Bratwurst with a scenic view

Oooh La La!!
Now, if you're in Newcastle or anywhere nearby, stop over at Quayside for the sausages. It's worth a try. Plus the price is fairly reasonable.
Regular Bratwurst = GBP 2.70 (if not mistaken)
Also, there is a huge selection of dressings to be paired with the sausages.
FOC, as long as the bottle caps were not misplaced
